269 People Killed in NYC Traffic Crashes

According to DOT data, 269 people died in vehicle-related crashes in New York City last year. While that total shows New York City’s streets to be the safest of any major American city and less deadly than a generation ago, as Mayor Bloomberg said when announcing the same data last year, “even one traffic fatality is too many.”

According to NYC car accident lawyer, Paul Ajlouny, traffic accident claims that walk through the door, are on the rise. Contributing factors for vehicle collisions include: Drunk drivers, fatigue behind the wheel, cell phone distraction.
